My Slug
'Slug'
is a fondness-filled, furry name for a NSLU2 device
from LinkSys, now Cisco (their websites are so boring, I
thought to not waste your time!).
NSLU means Network Storage Link, but the main point with
this thingy is, you can furnish it into a 100% 24/7
whisperless Linux ARM server. I did, and many others..
I use it for:
- subversion (svn
co svn://slugak.dyndns.org/public/)
I shall use it for:
- web hosting (incl. PHP, and Lumikki / svn maintained
community sites)
To get your own (you'll need a USB2 hard disk, too)
look here.
More
info on setting it up, and using especially with the Macs
is intended to be added here (please send me a line, if
you'd like that).
